Well I finally got around to putting that wastegate on. I pulled the old one off and compared it too the new one. The new one was somewhat longer in the shaft. So I adjusted it to match up with the old one. Then comes time too install the new one. I hook up a compresses air line give it 25 psi to relive the tension and wala it pops right in too place. Then I crawl underneath the truck and slip the c clip on. I took it out for a spin and max out at 24 psi at 80 mph. Thanks again for the wastegate illflem. #ad

Jeff, glad you could use it. It was one of things I tried to throw away several times but couldn't bring myself to. Now who needs a couple of stock turbo housings before I can them?

These are stock off of '95s, think they are 14

Bill I take it you are running the 16cm2 housing on your trucks?

Did you notice a big difference in performance switching housings?

Ryan, the 16s I installed came with the Banks Stinger Plus kits so unfortunately all my power mods came at once. If I knew then what I know now I would have done the install in stages just to see how much each mod contributed. Don't think Banks would include the 16 turbo if it wasn't necessary though. What I do know is I can pull monster loads uphill fast with 35-40 psi boost while my EGTs remain below 1100° pre turbo.

Hey illflem,
The stock take offs you have are 12cm. There is one for sale on the classifieds for $200. They are worth something to somebody. The Banks kit (I think) has a 14cm housing. The 14 has a wastegate and the 16 has none.

Just though I would point that out before you get buried in e-mails, the 14cm are quite desirable. (see sig)

And 2500 deletes #ad

Been about five years since the change and I'm horrible with numbers, without checking the Banks instructions I will believe you guys, It still works better than what was in it stock.
One more to go if anyone wants it, I can see no reason to go back or hold onto it, shop doesn't have a parts bin for turbos, so these things have been floating around for five years. Too heavy for a paper weight. A friend who installs Banks has a pile of them, also stock exhaust and mufflers, most likely for free. #ad
Before you ask for the exhaust system, I sent one to Denver,UPS was over $100

Bill, Seems to me that the size in CM is stamped inside the exhaust inlet on those housings. I've got a waste-gated 12 I took off when I went to the 16 and I know the 16 was stamped inside. Maybe when the Cat passes on to it's greater reward I might put the 12 back. Depends on what kind of temps I see when towing the 5er. Dave
