Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Installed Jacobs Brake

Finally got around to installing the exhaust brake. Not a difficult job but time consuming. I am kind of picky any way so it had to look like it came with the truck. The difference is astonishing on the slowdown with the truck solo. The big test will be with the 5ver on the back. Only thing left is to install the relay with the TC lockup signal to automatically control the brake with the DTT smartcontroller. Oo.

Cograts on the install. I use mine whether im haulin a load or empty Oo.

You will like it, especially going downhill with a load on, you never have to touch the brakes!!! Before it would "freewheel" and increase speed. I use it all the time, even going slow, it's cool. The shifter switch is the heat!!!

I built a bracket for the switch that came with the brake, and installed it on the shifter. It did rattle a little, but one band of electical tape around the switch solved that problem.

coming thru the smokey mts. with my 5er man did that help alot. brakes dont get hot, $ for $ an exhaust brake you cant go wrong.
