OK, so my mom never said I'd amount to much;)

I installed my DiPricols this weekend. I started with my boost gage. I got all the electrical done and run, got the gage mounted, installed my boost bolt (in the front most hole), hooked up the tubing, and fired up the truck.

Nothing.

I took the tubing off the boost bolt and used 20 psi air from my compressor, and yes, the gage worked. Got a long piece of wire to check to make sure there wasn't any gasket material coverin the bolt hole. There wasn't. Looked at the instruction again (I did look first!) Moved the bolt back to the hole behind the air horn, hooked up the tube, started the truck - nothing.

So now, I'm beginning to wonder. Checked all the connections, etc. , removed and rechecked all fittings. Put everything back together. Decided I needed to get some lunch (I always think better on a full stomach), so hopped in the truck and took off.

So, have you figured out what the problem was yet? I did, about 100 feet down the road - no boost until you load up the engine and reach higher revs.

In the words of the immortal Homer Simpson, "Doh!"

Sometimes it doesn't pay to get up in the morning.

Anybody need help installing a boost gage? You see, I've done it three times... .

Juan sorry sory to laugh but lol I just couldnt help it. Thanks for the post now when I put in a boost guage i wont have to go threw the same thing.

I did the same thing, sitting in the driveway after install reving the truck up nothing... . after taking everything apart and putting it back together I took it for a ride and it registered.

I would have done the same exact thing. Dang, you've saved me hours of work, several terrible curse words, some thrown tools, and probably my wife's sanity.

Oh yeah, don't forget you saved the dog from running for his life and my daughter from getting yelled at for some obscure crumb I'm sure she left on the backseat!

Think of the benefits from your sacrifice!

Thanks.

what's this boost bolt? I'm gettign rready to do my gages and was intending on drilling and tapping the intake horn. is there some bolt hole that I can use instead?

You dont need to drill or tap anything. Just get a boost bolt and it replaces one of the bolts that hold the intake horn down. You can get it with instructions from Genos garage

Juan... I put my guages in a few weeks ago and did the EXACT same thing... I really thought I messed something up. . wnet to the store to get some food and viola. . the guage works! LOL... glad I'm not alone in the "DOH" category!
