Well, I was reluctant to buy 275's because my eventual plan includes DD2's and a comp box, but I can't do that until I get my transmission worked. I didn't want to waste money on something that I would have to replace later, but the bottom line is that I don't have that kind of cash right now. I figured for $232. 50 shipped to my door, a set of 275's would hold me over until I could do everything else... that's a cheap 40-50HP.

So to the install... I was nervous. I've never even had the valve cover off my 24V before. I printed a couple different versions of instructions and set on my way. It took me a while to figure out what everything was with no pictures, but once I worked my way through the first injector, the rest were a BREEEZE. The most difficult part of the whole thing was turning the #5 and #6 injector line nuts about 10 degrees before having to flip the wrench over... took a while, but no major problems. If I had to do it again, it would probably take less than an hour start to finish... I'll be ready for those DD2's! :D

End result... once she fired up, stumbled for a second, and then started running smoooooth, I took her for a spin. Right away I noticed that the power improvement. Once I let the engine warm up, I did a few passes around the block and was throoughly impressed... definitely feels like 40-50 HP to me. Now if I just had something other than this loose factory slushbox driving the power to the ground. Was it worth it? Definitely! My daily commute invloves crowded surface streets full of idiot drivers who don't know how to use the merging lanes. With the 275's, the power increase comes on strong in 2nd gear, perfect when I have to dodge around someone going 35 in a 50... before I would have ended up cutting someone off in the other lane, but now I usually leave both cars in the dust. Before the upgrade my EGT's never got above 1025 or so, and the highest I've gotten them now is about 1200... and that was floored up a steep grade for a couple miles. My boost went from 16psi max to 19psi max, and I'm sure with a boost elbow and fooler my temps would drop even lower, but they're still safe so I'll probably just wait for the DD2's and comp box.

How can you beat 40-50HP for just over 200 bucks? I love 'em. Can't wait until phase 2. :D

Just installed my 275's this past weekend myself.

I really like the power with the Edge EZ and 275's. Nice combo without upgrading your clutch.

I have already gone through my first tank of fuel and see no mileage increase or decrease. I still get 19 mpg Hwy driving.

I agree injectors 5 & 6 were a pain in the butt. It took me 3 hrs to complete the install.

Now I plan on a dyno run this weekend to see what rear wheel HP and TQ numbers look like. I have a bud who just adjusted his PowerStrokes computer to add 80hp so I'd like to what he makes on the dyno too.

Dyno and price

Injectors are pretty close to the next thing on my wish list. I don't really want to give up my stock clutch yet, which is in good shape with just the EZ. So I'm thinking I can probably live with 275's, being happy in the knowledge that it's all the power my clutch can handle. So, a couple questions please:

theJeepDude - where did you buy your injectors for that price?

cmckinney - are the dyno numbers in your sig with the EZ and 275's?

Thanks,

Neil

I'm running 275s w/ an Edge Comp on 5x5 with my stock 5sp clutch for about 6,000 miles with out any problems so far. I don't know how much difference the 5spd vrs 6spd makes.

I have an 2001 HO. My clutch held with the Edge Comp, but when I added DDI's my clutch started slipping. The Southbend Con OFE & Installation ran me about $1,300.

I got my injectors off ebay. $225 for the set plus $7. 50 shipping. Best deal I've ever seen. Package came perfect with brand new Bosch injectors. Like I said... best $232. 50 I've ever spent on a single power upgrade.

Well I went to the dyno but they couldn't get the computer to read out properly.

It was a dynojet machine. The dyno would read my RPM's but would jump from 1500 to 4000 RPM during the pull. The readings were so incosistent.

Waste of time. I'll find another dyno shop in DFW.
