Wow, the thing is a beauty. What a nice clutch, and nice to see SBC includes the throw out bearing too.

If you do it yourself, just make sure you get the truck up in the air, and own or rent a good transmission jack.

I installed new flywheel bolts, and put lock tight on everything. Wasn't too bad getting the trans back in, but just make sure you get the two disc's lined up perfect before you try to push the trans back in. That nv5600 is HEAVY.

Now I can finally get 53 psi of boost in my truck, since its not slipping like before. The only thing I would recommend is getting the 94-97 slave set up. My 3600 pound pressure plate is too hard to push with the stock slave unit.

I can't believe you did that with a floor jack

Actually, I just lifted it off and laid it on my chest.

Harbor Freight has an adaptor that hooks to their cheapy 2. 5 ton floor jack.

It worked great. I just took a ratchet strap and made sure it didn't roll over on my wife when she did the install.

I thank god every day that I don't work on transmissions for a living. That is hard work, even with all the proper tools.

So how is the new clutch for day to day driving and hot rodding? Also is it slower rowing through the gears? (its their new street series right)?

Seems exactly the same for shifting.

A little bit louder when the transmission warms up (gear rattle), due to the lack of the sprung hub. Going to install the fluid dampner.

I went with the 3600 lbs pressure plate, and will be upgrading to a 97 servo, too hard to push the pedal now, and from what I have read, my servo will probably give up anyway soon.

Slight grab when engaging, but only have a 100 miles on the set up. Peter says more miles will smooth it out.

This is a 'Plug and Play' install. The design and machine work is flawless. I recommend it highly!

SBC is where it's at!!!

Peter is the man...

he rates his clutches very conservatively, so if he says 600, it's probably more like 700 in a lighter truck.

looks like a work of art :)
