some test results:EZ "alone" on level 3-noticable decrease in lag off the line( im assuming the timing adv. is whats helping)still not as much of a decrease as with the boxes "stacked". and SHANTI,here's one for you! EZ alone level 3-at "WOT" boost was a max of 30 lbs. (???)and egt's were 1000 deg. max. what caused the boost to lower?? shouldn't i still get a higher reading due the J-HOOK ?? what really excites me is to get to WOT with the EZ and then "IGNITE" the POWER MAX3 (pre-set to level 9,,of course)and hold the h*ll on !!! running the ez alone with the transmission upgrades feels pretty good. the ez alone adds some nice throttle response but the pmx3 alone is much much more. im definately not bashing the ez in any way. the ez alone just ain't enough for me,,but "stacking" it onto my pmx3 puts the icing on the cake!! im gonna due some towing with the combo and will probably leave the pmx off and see how the ez does. it might be worth buying it to use for towing and everyday use and turn the after-burner(pmx3)on when needed. as far as getting the back tires to burn off the line as before the transmission upgrades with the pmx3 i dont think its gonna happen. i do definately get them chirping now though with the "STACKED" boxes. i believe if it were a single rear wheel truck it would do some serious tire smokin. thank you BILL K. for sending me the ez to try before deciding to buy. really,,how many peolple out there would actually let you try the stuff out like BILL did me. i haven't hooked up the t/c saver yet but will do so before my camping trip. i'll be callin ya after that. sorry for the long post,,just thought someone might gain something from my findings.

Boost is directly related to how much fuel you add. The EZ can only add "so much" fuel which is why some can get upto 32lbs with just an EZ, depending on altitude. The PM³ adds alot more fuel then the EZ..... jus the nature of the beasts.

thanks kat,,ok,how about the issue of only seeing 40 lbs with the boxes stacked where as i had 45 with the pmx alone?any ideas?

Iceman,

You cost me $100. bucks bud.

While it is nice to have fun with all the power upgrades it does come with a price. Too often you do not hear about the breakage that is inevatable with this kind of usage.

In our own shop we have a set policy, we do not sell variable boxes, eventhough i am an edge dealer i do not sell the variable box.

I am also a Diesel Dynamic Dealer and i will only sell the Stage 1, Stage 11 injectors, while all their products have proven to be first rate, my first objective is to promote longevity and protect the transmission while giving good overall vehicle performance.

Some of you may say judging by my customers signatures that we do have guys with extreme hp. I assure you , they were warned about the high hp and towing combinations and the potential for shortening automatic transmission life.

One more thing, they did not buy their variable power upgrades from us.

80% of our customers are interested in towing reliability, and good safe positive performance.

I try to spend as much time as i can with each customer going over my personal views on what is best for their application and for their automatic transmission.

I'm not trying to put a dampner on your fun guys, i realize we are all adults,i just want to make sure you guys out there with the bombing disease know all the facts.

We are going to Muncie Indiana to the rally June 9 & 10, i am hoping to have a transmission in little pieces for guys to look at when i do the tech session.

We want to give guys a better understanding of the automatic transmission and an overview of the inner workings.

Iceman,

Should we ever meet, you owe me a $100. dinner(lol)preferably Mexican food, i can hear all the guys that know me groaning already.

ICEMAN - I may be off base here, but I was told to only turn on/off my fueling box at idle. I was told it was very very bad for the VP44 to turn it on and off while at WOT. This of course does not meant that I have not done it a few times, but I don't think I would make a habit of it.
