Dropped off my driveshafts this morning for work. We decided to build a new one-piece rear shaft, and lengthen the front shaft by 12. 5" (the length of the USGear unit with the 6sp adapter plates attached).
Total cost for this is $380 and change. Ouch. He's also re-using the yoke off my 2-piece shaft to save me about $90 in parts. VERY knowledgeable guy. Even told me how to set the pinion angle, and is going to loan me his digital protractor to measure it.
If I'm able to get away in time today, I'll get the shafts reinstalled and the measurements made, and maybe even get the shims installed. Depends if I can get the initial measurements done and get back over there before he closes at 5 PM.
Stupid Question: Does the NP241HD transfer case take ATF or gear oil? The red stuff that came out looks like ATF, but I want to be certain. I have five quarts of ATF+3 to put in it if I'm right.
