I am in the process of installing gauges on my 08 2500 CTD and have run into a slight problem. I ordered from Geno's garage an AcuTemp Adapter for the transmission sending unit. Per the photo and the instructions stated that the adapter should be mounted on the hot cooler line (forward line) in an area as close to the transmission as possible for an 48RE transmission. I am questioning if these instructions are the same for a 68RFE auto on an 08. It seems to me that the lines are close to the exhaust side and the adapter would pick up the exhaust heat thus giving me a false reading, leaving the transmission. Can I put this on a the hot cooler line some where else and is this the out side line to the cooler the correct one?

Thanks in Advance for any help.

I placed mine on the drivers side of the transmission, just above the front driveshaft yoke. I am using the line that comes out of the top of the transmission for the AcuTemp adapter. I don't actually know that this is the the "out" line, I just felt the two lines with my hand after a drive and that was definitely the hotter of the two. If you know any different please let me know. I would attach a pic but our camera is packed for a trip tomorrow.
