i was bolting the pressure plate on and when i went to put the last bolt in i relized it was missing so i thought it may have been wedged in the pressure plate or something so i pulled it off and it wasent there so i ordered a new bolt but the package the bolts came in said not to reuse them they had a locktite or something on them and now its gone after i put them in and pulled them out i never torqued them or even got them tite so if there a strech bolt im fine but what kind of locktite was on there and what kind should i use when i put them back in

thanks

Use blue or red thread lock - what ever suits your mood.

Do torque them to the specified value per the manual - I have not had to redo my 96 but did mess with one of the first 89 5 speeds where the dampener spring cover plate used to be a press fit rather than tack welded on.

I reused the stock bolts and the OE clutch plate and disc were working great 100,000 after the problem, 170,000 on the truck. To my knowledge, those bolts are still functioning (sold the truck so don't see it much) with over 300,000 on them.

The warning to not reuse the bolts would be a CYA if you chose not to reapply with some type of thread locker.
