2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Installing DSS / Size of nut

I have a Fisher Minute mount and a DSS but there is a catch. Mine is the horror story no one has mentioned. I start by removing the bolts to mount the DSS up, three out of the four sway bar mounting bolts break and the plow frame mounting bolts are not being friendly. It ssems that the butcher that put my plow mount on didn't care much if things were lined up and cross threaded a few bolts.

So I get out the blue tipped speed wrench and end up cutting the bolts for the plow frame. I then get two of the three broken sway bar bolts out and put the DSS on for a test. The next day come the dilema of fixing the last broken bolt, I try to drill it but that doesn't go well, I end up visiting my bouddy with the body shop and he says the best way to fix it would be to cut a pocket in the frame and chisel out the old nut and weld in a new one and then weld the pocket back up. So that's what I do and now the DSS is installed with about 12 hours of time but my plow brackets sit in the cellar waiting for more ambition to put them back on because it does require some modification.

Marv from DSS sent me some pictures of where to cut either the DSS or the plow mount. It's a small amount and shouldn't be too bad I just have to get around to doing it. The worst part will be holding the sway bar DSS and plow mounts up and getting the bolts started. If you pm your email I will see if I still have the pictures Marv sent me and send them to you.

By the way the DSS made an awesome improvement in the wander of my truck. Feels like it's got 10,000 miles instead of the 101,600 that it's got
