DiPricol gauges came in today from DPP!! Oo.

Here's the question..... Should I install pyro pre or post turbo??

Thanks in advance.

Also, where is the best place to go through the fire wall?

I installed my pyro post-turbo. I figured I'd rather do a little math (from what I read from other TDR posts 150-200 deg diff approx) than take the chance the probe would deteriate over time and get sent thru the turbo in pieces, but that's just me talkin'.

I fished the wires thru the firewall where the emergency brake cable goes thru. Then up thru the fuse panel for power connections and behind the pillar mount. Worked good for me.

in 25 years working on aircraft never seen a thermocouple tip go thru turbo. these are all installed pre turbo. max tit on most models is 1600 f. i wouldnt worry, there are other more probable things that will fail, like lift pumps, fuel gauge senders, #53 blocks etc.
