How much ATF will i need after the drain and install of the new double deep pan with new filter? and does anyone know the torque spec for the pan bolts? they say it holds an extra 4 quarts. Thanks

The way I figure out how much oil to put back in any automatic is to measure what I take out on the trans drain.
Check that your trans is at proper levels before you drain. I bought a large square catch funnel pan that goes over my regular drain pan. When I am done draining, I measure what came out. I usually use a milk carton or something like that. Add the additional capacity and you should be in the ball park. Just a tip: Add back a little less then top it off while checking the level on the stick.

With my PML pan (2 quarts over stock), its 9 quarts total, so 11 sounds right on for the DD Mag-Hytec. Only add 10. 5 or so and then check it. From the low mark on the dipstick to the max mark, its only approx 12 oz.

The Dodge SM states 125 in-lbs (10 ft-lbs) for the torque; be careful tightening to 16 ft-lbs or you could strip the alum threaded hole. You should be fine with tightening to 12 ft-lbs.

I drain my tq converter also, with my mag-hytec dd, I took 18 qts. Puts it right on the full mark, hot, idling in neutral.
