Installing Manual Trans Filter?

Just received one of the Manual transmission Filter kits from Geno's. Instructions indicate that it should be installed a certain way based upon the rotation of the PTO gear, however, they don't address the NV5600.



Can anyone, who has installed one, tell me which side of the 6-speed transmission is the correct side to install when the filter input opening is "up"? (TOP UP)

I just installed this on my NV5600 about a month ago. I followed the minimal directions it came with, installed it on the passengers side of transmission, with the "top" at the top, like it showed in my directions.



My only problem is that it leaks ever so slightly... ..... I used the paper and cork gaskets it came with. If it wasn't for the cost of more lube, I might take it back off and use RTV silicone gasket material to stop the leaks

Always use the black or orange RTV. Those cork gaskets will not stop a leak for very long, if at all.

cork gasket must be covered with the oil to be used for ten min to absorb enough oil to seal the space by swelling then compressed with cover oil will not compress only the cork. as to drain of oil you can drain down to cover bottom then replace with oil caught in clean container just clean outside and use clean can bucket, easy to do slow draining oil .
