Just recently purchased a Fuller transmission filter kit for a manual transmission (my transmission is a 6 speed) from Geno's Garage. Geno's said that I could use the same one for the transfer case. Which side of the transmission should the filter go on and the word TOP on the cover, should it go up or down? Since there is a PTO cover on both left and right of the transmission, I need to know which way the gears rotate to throw the oil into the new filter for the Dodge 6 speed application and also for the transfer case. Thank you and hope everyone has a great year.

That would go on the right (passenger) side of the trans and the top would go up. The oil is pretty pricey. If yours is reusable, drain it into a clean pan. I do not know about the transfer case, but would assume the same rules apply.

Steve is correct on the position. The transfer case uses ATF and i don't believe there is a filter for it.

Stick:)

Do NOT use the cork gaskets it comes with!!!

I also installed the Geno's manual filter on my NV5600 about 3 months ago. I didn't know any better, and I just installed it as it. Well, it leaked due to the cork gasket, so I had to drain the transmission again, and used RTV silicone caulk and that solved that little nasty problem!

Just an FYI.
