I bought a steering box and pump from Power Steering Services in Springfield, Mo. I had trouble getting my Flaming River steering shaft off the gearbox and ended up pulling it off the top end of the shaft. I do not know if my steering wheel has turn or not and have heard of stories about the clockspring. Does the steering wheel need to be centered in relation to the clockspring or do I just need to put the steering wheel in the centered position? If I need to center, what is the process? Thanks.

the wheel should just be straight. The steering gear and shaft should be keyed for alignment of the shaft. if the wheel is off center any after the install you can center the steering wheel with the adjustable sleeve on the draglink. would have been best to held the steering wheel with a strap/bungie cord before you removed the shaft, but it's to late now. if the wheel did turn it should only be out 180.
