Yes the supra's do have alot of capability after about 50,000 is dumped into one. I always calculate hp to dollar ratio in any car's worthyness you could take a 05 cobra change pulleys on blower and dust many supercars. I personally would never build an import just for that reason why try to build massive power out of such a small engine. So many guys with 10k invested into acuras and hondas and they still cant drop below 14 second quarter. I bought a 98 mustang gt brand new when I was 19 I loved spanking all the imports in puyallup I have never to this day understood the import craze just seems pointless like all the hot chicks though

guys that can't drop into the 14's with 10 grand under the hood don't know what they're doing. i wrenched at a shop a few years back. one of the other mechanics less then that in his engine and ran 11's all motor. it's not entirely impossible.

Like someone said earlier, there will always be someone faster out there. . But as far as I'm concerned, I think the stare factor is a heck of a lot better in a Viper than a Ricy Supra... Which is the number one reason why I bought the thing. . Its a total chick magnet compared to some warmed over ricer... To each his own. .

YEP! :D

100% agreed.

Steve  - You deleted the only part of this thread that I found interesting, I have a manual, BFD, but the statement regarding friction surfaces and odd or even counts, thats technical, not brand, and now I am lost, what the he!! was he talking about, I really did want to know. Unless I missed something whoever posted that simply wanted clarification of how the disks were set up, or did they???

This thread has 1 post with the original subject, 1 post on the subject, and 27 posts that are a little off the mark.

Does it matter, no, but now I am stuck writing stupid posts to complain about it :(

Who cares? At the end of the day, you still have a Toyota.

That said, Vipers suck too.

Real American muscle is V8/rear drive.

Actually real American muscle on this board is inline 6 Cummins with multiple turbos. C'mon Vipers aren't all that bad.

Keith, what RPM is that Supra launching at, and what is it winding up to?

There's not much made in America entirely anymore. They may be assembled here, but the parts are built elsewhere.

Keith, I was just curious what that motor revs to. That video sure sounds like it is up there.

Lets see you post some pics of these 'chicks' you get with your viper. . Also it's interesting that you value your car's 'stare factor. ' Do you feel the need to impress other people with your car? What are you compensating for? :-laf I hate to tell you but stock vs stock the supra was a far classier and nicer car than the viper ever was or is. Vipers are american muscle, with about as much class as a corvette - not a lot. We had a '94 viper, and it was a total POS. The word spartan doesn't even begin to describe the interior. The car also handled horribly in stock form, with severe bump steer and a rough ride. They may have improved the ride or interior since then, but the looks have gone downhill - they look ricey themselves now.

Hasselbach - I'm waiting for you to put your money where your mouth is and meet up with Keith's friend for a race. :)

Easy now Lightman, they are both fine cars - and I don't have the dough to own either! Seriously, I just like the speed.

Fred, he turns it 8100 normally, but has turned 8600 on the dyno just to "see" was it would do and for the tune. What video are you talking about (PM me)?

I have had both cars, an 94 Supra a 97 Supra, and a 01 Viper and an 03 Viper. The SUPRA is WAAAYYYY faster than the Viper, on the street and the highway. The Viper gets ALOT of attention from the older crowd. The Supra gets a TON of attention from the young crowd. Their are a few Twin Turbo Vipers and Vettes in Scottsdale, I have YET to see one of them even come close to taking a heavily modded STOCK block Supra. The Supras are BAD ***, and they deserve alot of respect.

After reading your post, I can only surmise that living in Ohio has taken its toll. :--)

Well, since I think there is little chance of Hasselbach ever wanting to run the Toyota now that you guys have scared him off, here's the video of my buddies car on the dyno: Supra on dyno video
