Have any of you installed strobe lights in a 04. 5 truck? I have a friend who is a non-member with a 04. 5 3500 Club Cab HO DRW and he is wondering where he can mount the pack and so forth? Any ideas?

I have a set in my o3,I got one of those painless wiring kits and mounted every thing in the under the back seat driver side.

I had mine installed in 3 trucks hideaways 4 in rear tail lights and 2 in head lights, control box behind rear seat drivers side.

I've been looking for info on this. Does anybody have recommendations on brands / part number for the kits? Pictures of the install would be kewl too. :)

Thanks!

Depends on $$$ What will he be using them for? A good brand is whelen or Nova. Nova makes power supplies for different companies. As long as you get a high wattage power supply you should be good. My . 02

He's Vol. Fire... ... he's checking in on this page I hope! :-laf

He already has them... ... just needed idea's on installation and things I guess  he had them in a '02 Dakota before he got his CTD.

I'm a vol. fireman also and have a Whelen box under the drivers seat. I built a harness that travels along the rocker panel, up the left kick panel and ends in switches mounted in the knee pad to the left of the steering column. One switch is on-off, the other is a SPDT center off momentary to toggle the flash pattern and hi-lo brightness features built into the strobe box. I have a Dashmiser on the dash and one small strobe mounted just forward of the duallies on each side (they are really meant for Crown Vic grilles, but are nice and small). Power is fed through a Painless add on fuse box.

As if a 3500 4x4 dually wasn't intimidating enough - try one with four strobes going and the Grovers screaming!!!!!!

sure mine is only a 2000, but i mounted my box under the back seat. so that it is somewhat equal distance for all the cables. my whelen 90 watt kit definately gets people moving out of the way. the front strobes are just as bright as the intersection lights on my mx7000 lightbar. happy install.
