My ISSPRO gauges came in today and I have a question about the location and installation of the transmission temp sender. Is drilling the fluid pan the only option? I need some suggestions and some instructions.

Mounting the sender in the pan is not the way to go. You wont get accurate readings. You want to mount it in the line going to the trans cooler. This way you will get the true temp reading. 2 ways to do this, www.jannettyracing.com call them and order the sender well kit, its about 45 bucks. Its not on there website, you have to call. Its easy to install, all you need is a tubing cutter and 2 wrenches.

The other option is to order a line from DC. I dont have the P/N but it cost about $90. 00.

Either way will work fine. I prefer the Jannetty kit since it is cheaper and easier and works just as well. Have done several already. Ill send you pics if nessecary.

I agree with the kit idea for the line. I bought the new line, and it was a total of $120. Works good, but if I had it to go over, I would get the kit. Good luck with your installation - you'll love having the guage.

why pinch pennies???

I elected for the peace of mind to just replace the line with a mopar quality replacement line

For $90. 00 why take the chance of having the patch kit leak?

For the price of replacing the transmission if a problem develops from a leak and it can happen,I would rather spend the extra pennies up front.

Just my 2&#162

and I will also say that Bill K sells the line for alot less than the dealer does. ;)

The part number is 5011244AA. Try Mopar4Less. They have it for a little cheaper that what's been posted here. The dealer here wanted $130 plus tax. Ouch.

Bob,

I understand what to do to install the Jannetty kit but I'm not sure what you are refering to about the mopar quality replacement line. Do I still need the Jannetty probe well?

Bob is reffering to a complete Mopar replacement line instead of the Jannetty kit. Honestly, there is no advantage to that setup, i have seen it, the Jannetty kit when installed correctly will be just as secure as the replacement line. We use the exact same compression fittings on 240psi fuel lines and have NEVER had a failure.

If you are going with the Jannetty kit, you dont need anything else, just what Jannetty sends you. The only tools you need are a tubing cutter (Home Depot, about $15. 00) and two open end wrenches (I dont remember what size). It is easy to do. Any questions, give Ted a call, he will walk you through it.

I have installed about 6 of the Jannetty setups so far on Rams plus alot of other vehicles and NEVER had a leak or drip. One of our Tow trucks has over 100,000 miles and it still works great.

Nope, cut it in place. No need to remove the line. Just measure how wide the well is with the fittings attatched and allow for the tubing to go into the fittings. Then cut out a piece that big. Its easy. Any questions, let me know
