installing valve body

Have any of You members installed a VB by
Yourself,is it abig chore,how long did it.
Were the results good.

Have done several on 727 transmissions. First thing you want to do is clean the area around where the shift lever goes into the transmission, the shift lever and the throttle valve arm both have to come off and the place where they mount will be withdrawn down through the transmission housing, thus the need to clean. I have cleaned with a car wash and an air/solvent gun. If you are changing to a valve body which requires some pressure adjustments with it that could get complicated. If you do change the VB it would be a good idea to change the seals on the shifter tower and the one in the case bgwhere it comes through.

I did my own... . on my back... . in the backyard. Followed the instructions to a tee. Took about 3 hours total. I adjusted the bands at the same time. The BD instructions were very helpful. Others have said it is important to take accurate pressure readings before and after. I did. But there was no adjustments neccesary. It ran real smooth from day one. You will love the improvement, especially when towing.
