hey guys, got a question here thats got me wondering. have a2002 3/4 ton 5. 9 cummings ,i am in the middle of installing the fass system and was going to take out the old lift pump and fuel filter from the motor when i noticed that where the lift pump should be , there is what looks like a aluminium bypass assembly. Now about 8 months ago had the lp replaced from the dealer and i am asuming that it is now in the tank .

My question is, do i need to drop the tank and put in some kind of tube for the new pump to pull from, or will it pull the fuel through the old lift pump ?

not 100% sure ( as I never got the new intank pump prior to installing FASS) but I belive that you will need a new draw straw in the tank. Dont think that it will pull through the intank pump. If I am wrong some one will add better info. Does the intructions say anything about it or did you check DPP's web site for info?

Hope this helps

JCyrbok, you are correct DHarrah will need a draw straw.

DHarrah you can do a search on fass systems or draw straws, I have read quite a few threads on them (24 valve engine/trans forum).

Check your spelling. . CUMMINS ,and yes you will need a drawstraw and have to drop the tank.

The engine in your truck is a Cummins diesel, the TDR head quarters is in Cumming, GA.

You can search in 3rd generation forum also for draw straws.
