I'm considering installing a new 4" exhaust system. In order to enhance flow and control sound I may insulate it at the time of installation. I'm thinking industrial type insulation like you'd find in a factory setting. I've had header wrap on the first 7' or so of the stock system for the past couple of years and it did reduce the in cab noise.

By keeping the exhaust at a higher temp, it should (will?) flow more cfm. From working with natural gas fueled engines around municipal water plants where sound mitigation is very important I know won't be as loud (in the cab), question is, how quite will it be. Better than a muffler and no insulation?

Looking for opinions.

Thanks
