Noticed that my under hood and firewall insulation is sagging some. Any solutions/ideas on how to re -secure? Thanks, bg

Just last week I noticed the same thing...
It was sagging down about 4" in the middle.
I decided to take it down and found a mouse nest!!!
Decided to leave it off as others have done with NO I'll effects.
If I do replace it, it will be with one of these...

Aircraft firewall material hood liner pad for Mustang, Corvette, Grand National, many other cars

He uses aircraft quality material to custom cut his hood liners from.
You DO have to remove the hood to properly install the liner, but I think
That is a small price to pay to get the kind of quality this offers.
Even though he does not have onelisted for our trucks,
He can and will do one for the same price as the others, including
A large foil rams head if you like that sort of bling.
Personally I like the quality of these hood liners and the fact that
Mice will NOT be able to make anest behind them!!!

Auto paint shops sell cans of aerosol spray cans containing high quality automotive adhesive. It works!

If you can ease the insulation down, spray the adhesive over the under surface of the hood and press the insulation back in place I think it will stay.

Use 3M spray 90 (not 70) about 13. 00 a can (1 is plenty) Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

Just make sure that you have it where you want it when re-installing. No 2nd chances.

Dodge has a safety recall #H34 dash silencer pad. This repair was made for the 2007. 5 trucks, with the 6. 7 engine only,to prevent the pad from catching fire on the E. G. R. piping. The support bracket number is #CBLFH340 (I know this does not look like a Mopar part number). I think the part was $8. 00. I installed this on my 5. 9 2007 when the pad started to sag under the cowl. As far as the hood goes, Fix it as best you can or buy the replacement. Had my hood pad replaced under warranty. The new pad has been OK.

Mine has been laying on the valve cover since new... another one of those things I asked the dealership to fix repeatedly, but never happened... one of these days, I'm going to put some 2" wide adhesive backed velcro on it and stick it back to the firewall where it belongs...

the 03never had a hood pad, but earlier this year i had to pull the fire wall pad out as the connection failed and it was resting on the exhaust pipe. nothing like pulling smoldering cotton fibers from a very hot exhaust pipe to keep the truck from burning up. lesson hear is dont ignore this problem.
