Curios if anyone knows on an insurer who specialized in overland rigs. My concern is lets say you have $30k in to a built offroad/overland rig. However, the book value of the vehicle it is built on is only $15k. If I got in to a wreck (or a fire, or theft, or a flood) I would be paid out the $15k based on the blue book value of the VIN. I am looking for a policy to protect my $30k investment in the case of total loss. Thanks

Not sure about your rig specifically, but I have two classic cars I insure at "agreed value" with Hagerty. (there are other companies out there). They would've insured my 95' Bronco for "agreed value" but I drive it to work so no dice. Since you off road, that may be a sticking point also, but you need to find an insurance company that will work with you along those lines.. Again, I DD my Bronco, but an overland would not be the same so worth starting to ask questions.. Good luck.

As BC said agreed value is certainly a good route to check. Don’t be afraid to call more than one if the first one or two say no to daily driving.

I would also for sure check on the regular insurance market, explain the rig in detail. Now if I am not mistaken whatever is attached to the truck should be covered at least for liability claims ie a trailer is for sure. You may very well be able to get a separate comp and collision policy for the camper portion
