Just wondering if anyone had looked into how the factory has handled the engine air needs on the 3rd gen trucks. They are making some reasonable power now so the air filter along with other parts of the engine air system has to be upgraded.

Anything there that we can use on our 2nd gen trucks?

Thanks, Ronnie

I know it's bigger and draws air fron the grill area but have no idea if it will fit a 12 valve.

What I'm interested in is the new variable speed fan. Won't be long till some '03s start hitting the junk yards.

The new fan is HUGE .

The test truck at TIM had a custom shroud and the hood didn't even close all the way. But using a clutch setup like that would be cool... .

Fenton Assembly Plant tour

A Bransford, Conn. , TDR member and his wife stopped here in Missouri for a few days vacation (going to the TDR Nationals). I scheduled a tour of the St. Louis (Fenton) Ram assembly plant yesterday, it was fun and very educational. The new fan on the ECHO engine is huge and rumored to recieve ECM signal for partial lockup. Overall the installation package is neat with one exception, the exhaust manifold appears small (looks wimpy) and the turbo is mounted very low. I'm sure that HVAC and the Mitchell's will quickly find room for twins :D :D. I think that the airbox could be adapted to second generation trucks though the purchase of a new airbox from Dodge might be pricey. Larry
