Just my two cents but isn't the AFE made in CHINA? If so there's your quality issues and I try to avoid buying their garbage anyway-but good luck buying a kid's toy made here. That being said I run a CFM+, had a GDP and they feel about the same but my water meth wouldn't work with the 1/4in bosses on the GDP.

Well thanks for the 2cents you just taught me something that might have caused a issue down the road as I am going for water/meth

You def need a METAL Intake Horn if you're going the water/meth route, plastic can give you grief.

Since you don't list what year truck you have, can't give you any other advice about intake plumbing.

On my 2006, the factory piping from the Intake Horn to the Intercooler is plastic. I replaced that plastic piece with a BD aftermarket metal pipe. I have no plans to go to the water/meth, but I have had experience with plastic plumbing parts on turbo'd cars, the plastic tends to not be able to handle the pressure. There have been some with stock trucks who have split the seam on that plastic pipe, I changed mine simply to remove the possibility of a problem.

I am slowly starting to build some more power into my 03 ho auto Dually with 45,000 miles. I have a Amsoil duel oil Bypass filter and I just installed a 4 inch stainless exhaust. Logically a intake would be next but according to Banks if I add a nice red intake horn I will get about+1. 5 lbs of extra boost.

I am asking anyone who knows, will you feel the extra boost? what does 1. 5 lbs equate to in H/P or FP of T? Is it worth the $ or Next step get a Smarty jr for $500.

I didnt know cummins made an HO in 03... .

I have 430,000 miles on the AirDog with zero issues. Still as quiet as the day I put it on (meaning you can't hear it run). Install the AirDog, run it through the stock filter housing (for additional water separation) and then add a 2 micron Caterpillar filter and remote head before going to the injection pump. Replace all fittings and line to at least 3/8" after the AirDog to increase flow. Should be bulletproof and extremely clean fuel with inexpensive filters.

Godspeed,
Trent

The plastic manifold is not magic lol but it will come apart just like a bad trick

Replacing the horn I believe allows the ECM to see boost sooner thus giving fuel sooner. A SOP dyno improvement noted. I don't think it improves the top end like the guys who chase the big dyno #'s. Lots of trucks making big power without a horn. It is fun to wrench a little without spending big $$$.

My stainless horn does look cool but chrome don't getcha home.
