This is my first post although I have been a member for a few months, I can usually find any information I'm looking for by doing a search, but came up with nothing on this... .

I had the hood up with the engine running today and happened to pass my hand over the intake manifold. I was pretty surprised to feel air coming out of two holes that look like they should have bolts in them. One is in the front of the manifold, the other in the rear, the same place the injector lines have hold down brackets. Is this normal??

Thanks in advance!!

There should be 14 bolts in M8x1. 25 thread holding the intake cover down. Five of them hold the air intake horn (4 if egr equipped), two hold down the fuel filter, two hold groups of 3 injector lines, one holds the fuel return line.

I would say you are missing some bolts. I went out and looked at my 97 and there are no empty bolt holes on the long plate on top of the intake manifold that the air horn is hooked to.

Thanks, that is what I thought, I guess I'll pull a nearby one to find the correct length and get some replacements.

Thanks for the quick replies!
