anyone know if the intake manifold bolt pattern is the same on all the cummins motors ?

i want to know if a manifold horn from a 94-98 12v will bolt in place of the one from a 92

this is what i have got ... . and i was wondering if one from a 2nd gen 12v that has got a built in 45 would work better

this is a pic of a guys from a 96 i think he took and cut off the triangle bracket off the horn it makes it look like it would work for me

and in this pic you can kind see how right after the 4 bolts it just kicks at almost a 45 and then bends down ..... thats almost exactly the profile i need

a better pic of my setup now from above

The intake bolt pattern is the same all the way up to the current year CDT.

Do not use a common rail intake air horn. It is just as restrictive as our 1st gen is.

I have a 24 valve 2nd gen air horn on my truck. The 12valve 2nd gen is the same inside. But it has that big wing cast into it.

Here is some pic's of air horns inside the opening.

The 1st pic is a 1st gne on the left and a 2nd gen on the right.

This second pic is a common rail air horn beside a cooltubz. Look inside the common rail air horn and see how it narrows down.

Thanks to TWorline for the second pic. He also has the pattern for a 3" IC tube for the 2nd gen air horn on a 1st gen.

Maybe TWorline can make a custom set of Cooler Tubz for you. I don't see why he can't move the 1st tube around to miss the Hydro.

I put one on my 92 (that I sold to Rumblefish this past weekend) when I put in the 96 intercooler. It bolts right up, only I had to trim the arm that sticks out on front of the horn assembly to clear the injector lines. I like the 12v horns better, as they are bigger than 24v horns.

A Dodge Hydro boost setup with the stock bracket is close on clearing the

2nd gen air horn. I haven't gotten around to swaping in my hydro boost setup yet to find out if it will clear.

Going by a tape measure it is very close. The Dodge setup needs 18. 250" from the firewall to the air horn for clearence. My 2nd gen air horn shows 18. 50" from the firewall.

If it doesn't clear TWorline can supply a cooltubz setup that will clear a hydroboost. I have a set of them waiting just in case.
