intake manifold

just read where banks made a new intake manifold for the land speed truck and with all the #6 piston failures why hasnt someone made a new intake manifold for our trucks? it seem there would be some horsepower to gain and some reliability. do you think one could be fabbed out of sheet metal and work

I think the stock intake manifold is an integral part cast into the cylinder head. You would have to remove the head and use a band saw to cut it off. Then it would have to be machined flat and some type of fastening system devised to install a new manifold. All of this is no problem if you're Banks with lots of $$ to throw at it.

now if banks decided to mass prodice a head like that [ported & polished and all the goodies too] with that intake on it for a reasonable price i'd maybe be interested [looks way cool there] if the price were right

banks and reasonably priced in the same sentance ... there's a first

in their defence i don't know how anyone could do that in a reasonably priced way ... unfortunately
