Intake on the head

I'm in the process of fixing my blown head gasket and while inspecting the head I noticed that the intake track has a lot of oil like build up.

Back in 97 when I bought the truck it had the egr pipe on it . But I took it off about a year after buying it. So I'm not sure if that is the problem.

I do run the RE-0880 K&N on the truck, could this be causing the problem ? I really think it 's enough to be worried about.

Any ideas ?

Also , I had my injectors checked just to make sure every thing is alright.

Well, I had three bad injectors and one with a hole plugged.

I ended buying a whole new set. I had less than 40,000 miles on them! So if your in dought about your injectors , get them checked.

which track are you talking about?

The manifold? Or before the intercooler? After the intercooler?



While ya got that head off you might call Joe Donnelly and get it ported. It will help those EGT's cool down.



Are you gonna get the thicker gasket to lower compression?

It's the manifold , I'm porting the head myself and I'm putting in the thicker gasket.
