Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) intake question

if the trucks come with intake air heaters, why would you want to go with a cold air intake???

The cold air is more dense. More air to mix with more fuel. More power!

The heaters just help cut out the eye burning cold start smoke. I've read some applications dont even use them. I have seen some QSB 4 cyl's that had no heaters. They do come in handy when it's really cold if you dont use the block heater.
