Hey Guys

Newbie here.

Used 2001 w/ dealer installed intank pump. I don't like the looks of the install though. The factory harness has been cut near the block mounted pump location, and two random wires have been spliced into the injection pump loom, one ground and one headed down toward the tank. Intank pump and adaptor plate look oem, wiring just looks hokey. Of course I don't hold 5 psi under any conditions except idle as indicated by a recently installed DB warning light.

Anyone have a copy of the dealer install instructions they could post so I can check/restore the wiring harness?

Thanks in advance.

I put the expensive "in tank" kit in my 98. 5. The wiring harness was somewhat complicated but did not require any wiring to be cut that I recall and it worked OK for a short time but fuel pressure dropped again. I got an original equipt type pump from NAPA and installed it in series with the in tank unit and fuel pressure is good again. Lost the VP44 soon after the in tank installation but it was probably cooked before the change. IMHO the in tank unit is junk.
