Interchangeable Cab questions

Truck is in the sig, will an truck cab manufactured in 10/88 change over to my 91? The 88 is a half ton, and I wasnt sure if things such as the master cylinger, steering column and such were interchangeable.



The other problem I see may be the 88 is an auto and mine is a stick. What problems would I run into in changing all this over, or should I look for something different?

yes the 88 cab will work pedal's should bolt back into place everything will or should bolt back up the only thing I see you might have troubles with is the floor tunnel is different on the auto so get out the ruler and do some checking all the cab's and pretty much body work from 81 to 93 is same from my past exp. good luck .

I just got through doing this. I put a 90 gas cab and 92 front nose and doors on a 93 diesel and changed this and that all around. Dashes and steering columns, AC and seats and windshields. They are remarkably similar. Everything fit with some stuff taking a little tweaking. I put the diesel floor tunnel in the gas job easily, just line up some of the dimples that reinforce the floor and bolt it in. Look it over a bit to make sure you have enough overlap. I painted everything when it was apart and put it all together last month. Fun project and nice outcome. Good luck.

Went up tonite to look at the cab donor truck. The auto hump in the floor is approx 2-3 inches lower than my 5 sp. I already did the tunnel upgrade of making the top come off with some screws to get to the top of the transmission, of the cab I am replacing. Now where on my truck is there any place that the center hump comes apart or is bolted in.



I haven't had a chance to look at the auto, but I may be able to cut the auto hump out and put my modded top in. Another question would be whether or not there is any difference between the auto and stick cabs, in the height difference for the bell housing clearance. Looks pretty tight. Any ideas?
