Howdy fellas,

I was wanting to put bigger injectors on my 91 but after

reading threads on TDR , I'm not so sure. If I did, I probably would want 180 or 215 hp. How much does an intercooler cost?

IF i need one? My truck was manufactured in Nov of 90' so i don't think it has one. The only line i see coming out of the turbo housing goes to the top of the bracket that the oil filter goes on.

About how much does it cost to advance your pump timing?\

I don't think I'm that technically inclined. Does my truck have the bigger size hole injectors? if so can I turn up my pump some without straining it much?

Thanks in advance Steve

Steve, that small hose is the oil line for the turbo bearings. Where does the large air hose go to? (this is about 2 1/2" diameter) If it goes over the top of the engine, there is no intercooler. If it goes to the front of the truck, there is an intercooler infront of the radiator.

Do you need one? Yes if you want to make decent horsepower. and keep temps down. Saw one in the classifieds a week or 2 ago and I think it was in the $400 range. Don't know what a new one will run. Have seen discussions about lack of clearance in some of the earlier models so maybe someone who knows will step up and let you know if one will fit or what mods need to be done.

Injectors will be the best HP gain, pump next, Turbo housing then exhaust. You already have a straight pipe so that area is covered. Some have said that the earlier models had larger injectors than the 93's but the PW worked good in mine and I saw good gains. The turbo housing will really make a difference in your truck. Go to a 14 or 16 for general use or 12 for even more power BUT, need that intercooler ! The more you compress the air, the hotter it will get.

Pump timing - you can do it yourself but I understand your reluctance to do something you have not seen done. I was the same way and took my truck into a shop and had someone do it that knew what they were doing. To have a shop set the timing pin correctly and then set the pump timing will run in the area of $200. (maybe more, maybe less but that is what it cost me out here on the west coast. Had the work done in Oregon). I had mine set at 1. 7 but most are around 1. 5. I am thinking of turning mine back down just a little, motor seems to be a little noisy.

Couldn't answer some of your questions but hope this helps some.

Thanks Alot Stan, By the way the only air hose or anything I can see is the (I don't know what you call it) it has Dodge Ram

Cummins turbo diesel on the front face of it

I REALLY need a service manual, can you tell me where to get one?
