I just got the kit from Piers, two black intercooler boots and two blue silicon connector boots, and nice clamps. Any tips on installing? Which are the hardest? Thanks.

It is easiest if you take the tube off the turbo & then the tube... . install the hoses on the tube outside the truck... . then start at the intercooler hose first working your way back. Make sure you position them correctly so they don't rub on anything. They gotta be warmed up to get any stretch out of them... . good luck... . they aren't easy.

As doug stated, make sure to bend the lower edge of the inner fender away from the intercooler boots. Sometimes they can rub and wear a hole in the boots.

Update. I just finished the passenger side and will give you my tips based on one time installation, ( one time doesn't make me an expert )

First, take note of the position of the connecting pipe- it has a bend and a long and short end - I suggest you mark where the top is and try to get it back in the same position - this also applies to the intercooler boot.

Clean the intercooler and pipe ends - a little bit of smoothing with an emery cloth.

Warm the boots in boiling water.

Put the connecting pipe into the intercooler boot and clamp it.

Install the intercooler boot and clamp it.

Install the silicon boot on the turbo pipe and clamp it.

Hopefully the connecting pipe is in the same position as before you started.

Now put the turbo pipe and silicon boot onto the connecting pipe - on mine I had to trim about a inch off the silicon hose (easy with a razor blade) to line up the turbo pipe with the turbo - connect the turbo pipe to the turbo - and lastly. clamp the silicon hose to the connecting pipe.

Warming the boots and making sure the end are smooth helps, but it's still hard to get them on but not as bad as I expected. Also bending the fender away from the boot is easy and gives you some room the clean the intercooler pipe. Clamping the boots as I suggested ensures they don't move when installing the other end - I learned this the hard way.

I will do the other side tomorrow -looks like it will be easier.
