Can anyone tell me if 2002 and 2005 intercoolers are interchangable? The reason I ask is that I heard that the new plastic intercoolers can somtimes fail when you step up the boost. I figured since the 2002 is metal I would swap them out, but wanted to ask the experts here if I should. My truck is currently all stock but when the warrenty is gone that will changeand I'll probably have lots more bomb questions.

Thanks in advance.

To me they the plastic caps look to be rather stout. I'm not sure how much psi they will take but my guess is that they would take a lot. If I were going to change the intercooler I'd go aftermarket.

I had the opportunity to look over a 2005 yesterday. I noticed the intercooler itself (not the caps) was significantly thinner and smaller than the one on my truck. I wonder why?
