The radio will display the time w/o key in ignition. Just hit the time button (on the cd & cassette radio).

The coin holder is removable from the center console.

Any others that someone has "discovered" accidentally? (in computers we know they are "undocumented" bugs, but really called "extra" features :D:D )

SOTSU!!

I knew about those two, actually read about the "removeable coin holder" in the owners manual. Unhook one of your visors then pull on it lenthwise- they actually extend on the rod to help you better position them to block out the sun.

Also, when you stop the truck and turn it off, if the driver opens his door before any of the passengers attempt to, it will unlock the subsequent doors. Pretty Cool!

I just thought of another one. My 6 year old daughter most often rides right behind me in the back seat of the QuadCab. If the timing is just right when I get out of the truck and she flings the back door open, a fifty pound 6 year old, utilizing the truck door, very effectively knocks the crap out of her 40 year old 210 pound daddy! I have learned not to stand between the doors! I wondered if anyone else with kids getting out of the back had experienced this. Ben, I hope I haven't messed up your post by being a wiseguy!:)

Haha! I have two kids so I'll have to watch for the flinging door syndrome. I can tell you this though. I slammed my right ring finger in the drivers door one night and it's still not the same a month + later. Them doors seal up tight, let me tell you! I actually think I broke it but I never went to the Doc to find out. Smart huh?

Anyhow, to reply to Ben, I can't think of any secret surprise that you haven't found yourself, but I'll toss a couple out there.

Do you guys know about the check gauge thingy where you hold the odometer button while turning the key on? Lots of pretty lights. :) How about the guys with electric door locks. Did you know that if you unlock the DS door once with the key, the DS door only unlocks but if you do it twice, all of them unlock? :)

Kilby,

I did the hold key with button in trick when I first got the truck and was trying to see the hours. Scared the bejabbers out of me, I thought I broke the truck:eek: .

CKruse,

There is a "child safety" lock on thr rear doors, if youactivate it your kid won't be able to wang you with the door.

Would that make it an "adult safety" lock then????:D

If you turn the instrument lights dimming wheel down all the way it overrides the interior lights. It also has a position for driving and leaving your headlights on in the daytime that makes the odometer and radio brighter.

If your truck is off, and you are listening to the radio on the accessory key position, you can get rid of the chiming while the drivers door is open by pulling on the key while it is still in the accessory position (like trying to pull the key out of the ignition with out turning it to off). This also turns off the display on the radio - although it is still working. Turns it into a stealth radio.

Power windows work in the ACC position. Something I wish my '01 had.

Yes that is great. I wish the windows worked without the key in at all. Half the time I pull the key out, forgetting to roll up the windows first.

How about this one. If you turn the turn signal to make a turn and the turn is made, but does'nt cancel the turn lever. approximately 1 minute later a chime will alert you of the signal still operating.

If you turn the engine off with the headlights still on, and then turn the headlights off, they will stay on for X amount of time and then auto shut off.

Head light

If you want to turn the headlights off right away instead of waiting, turn them back on, then back off. Then you don't have to check later to make sure they turned off.

Mine doesn't do this. I wonder if it's a Laramie only thing? Anyone else's do this?

Re: Head light

The annoying part of the auto lights off feature is that your parking lights go off after a few minutes when the key isn't in the ACC/ON position. When I'm waiting at a boat ramp in the dark, I like to be seen by other vehicles coming to the ramp. It is a BLACK truck after all...

I pulled on the key in the acc positon to no avial, and I would really like to use this feature. Is there more to this than just pulling the key, do we depress the key release button also? or?

My Larimie won't play

There is a 4 wire flat trailer light connector under the bumper hanging off the wireing harness in addition to the 7 wire round in the bumper. No need for a 7 to 4 adapter.

David, this is because of the 'power save' feature, and I think maybe there is a way to program it to not do this (don't have manual in front of me though).

One thing I like is the odometer lights up when the door is open, you don't have to turn the key on to check your mileage.
