i had to take my truck in for a possible lift pump failure. I was told there is an aftermarket replacement by delphi (former delco gm parts division) lift pump for the cummins/ram. Since mine is still under warranty it will get the carter one. that is all i know about the delphi pump. So there is an alternative out there.

I bought a fleetguard fuel filter a few weeks ago. i had a wix in my truck. Both filters were identical in looks and in price and both had the stratapore trademark symbol on them. I emailed cummins about it, and couldn't get a straight answer. Either wix makes them for fleetguard or fleetguard makes them for wix.

Gary, call and talk to the same dude again and see what else you can find out about this Delphi pump,cost,availability,where to buy... ... ..... mainly get a order # or part #... ... ... ... ... ... then we could get one to member 15-40 so he can test it... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Kevin

i will be in contact with him tomorrow i am sure about my truck, i will ask him. More than likely if delphi is making they are probably using on the duramax diesel would be my guess.

Didn't see where anyone said the pump was for a common rail system? Not sure what you're talking about there?

I'd be willing to bet the Delphi unit is a Carter just like ours. It's just packaged by or for Delco/Delphi. I've seen this many times before. One pump, packaged 3 or 4 different ways for the various wholesalers out there. I wouldn't get my hopes up on this one!

I would love to test the Delphi pump. I have also been in contact with Belgoes, the manufacturer of the 10K hour life lift pump. They are in the process of developing a 120 Gal/hour pump that will be available in Nov. I sent an email to one of the engineers asking many questions about this pump and he will keep me informed about the development. As soon as I hear anything new, I’ll post to the forum. Maybe there will be a good solution to the weak-link. :)

i think the manufacturers get to carried away with electrical stuff. Give me good old mechanical stuff. All this electric and computer is why the auto makers are going to 24v electrical systems in the future. It's electric... . boogy woogy woogy

I was referring to THIS statement above:

"More than likely if delphi is making they are probably using on the duramax diesel would be my guess. "

Perhaps I misunderstood?

i was making an assumption on it. I don't know if the duramax is common rail or not. Anytime a component is needed for gm products delphi has first dibs on it.

Gary

The duramax has a common rail fuel system made by Bosch not Delphi. The Delphi pump looks just like the stock pump. I would not be suprised if it is made by Carter. Hope this helps
