I have a 95 q/c 5 speed 2wd with only 135k on it. A few months ago I had the transmission rebuilt (previous owner trashed it) after a month or 2 it started stalling on me when i put the clutch in unless i shifted at 1500 rpms or higher sometimes it dropped to 500rpms then recovered if i turn on any load a/c turn the wheel etc it will fluctuate its rpms again. we adjusted the idle and was ok at around 1000rpm well we noticed that the fuel line was kinked by the transmission so we put it in its keeper (transmission shops mistake) well after almost 4k it has been fine but the other day after a 120 mile run and idling 40 mins it came back again and has dissapeared again after not even touching the engine. does anyone have any ideas on what to do next?? there is no water in the fuel filter which has about 20 k on it. thankyou I did replace the lift pump about 6k before the engine started acting up. It is stock apart form sliding the fuel plate

Replace your fuel filter first. See what happens. I think 20K is over the recommended interval. 15k? Plus, you can always get a bad batch of fuel and have to replace the filter anyways, even if you put it in recently.

just a tip you really dont want to leave these trucks idleing for too long just long enough to let the turbo cool down which after pulling a real heavy load in the summer 5 minutes at the most.

Are you using an injector cleaner lube if not you could have a stickey injector. I run and recomend that we all run an injector cleaner lube at all times, your choice Wall-Mart or Specialty shop my experience is that they all help.

Had the same problem adjusted the valves and problem went away. I find I'm needing to run the valves about every 30,000.

Hope this helps
