One of our friends wrote this tech article about the front Dana 60. I especially like the part about tearing down a plow truck front Dana 60 with over 250K miles and finding it basically in good shape. http://www.mopartruckparts.com/tech/t019.html Tyler has also done several Cummins conversions on 70s Power Wagons and is a good source for information.
 
Thanks for posting. Very interesting connection between plastic bushing wear in the upper kingpin and abnormal tire wear (likely the cause of my condition).

That is interesting thanks for posting my gen one had about 400 000 miles on it when I sold it I always kept the top and bottoms of the king pin greased the guy I got it from didn't because after the first time I greased it it made the truck drive a lot better .
