Is the stanadyne pump similar to the Roosa-Master pumps?

I love the old Roosa Pumps!! I don't recall who bought them out... ... . anyone recall?. Stanadyne I think.



The Lucas Cav and the Stanadyne look similar. Remember how they sat upright in the engine block of a John Deere 4010?

I think Roosa is part of Stanadyne now. I know that when A-C started using AMBAC pumps in the early 80's a lot of users wished they would go back to the R-M pump due to better governor response and better fuel economy. AMBAC pump was more enviro-friendly.

AMBAC is American Bosch. . not Robert, if your wondering.

that would be interesting, I know aircraft mechanics that use sumped jet-A saved in 50 gal barrels for free fuel all day long in their p-pumped trucks, but I thought those p pumps were lubed by engine oil, not fuel like our Ve-44's... Jet-A wouldn't get you any more power to be sure, it's similar to kerosene/diesel except without any lubricicity...

We don't care or get nervous about you having that book. It is good information but not complete. It may inspire you to try to repair your injection pump your self. But we get pumps in boxes all the time that are torn apart and need it serviced and calibrated. That info was meant to give a diesel mech. a working knowledge of the pumps that fit cummins engines. This knowledge helps to diagnose fuel injection systems.

Yep. it sure won't assist the average truck owner to calibrate a pump.

Gotta check out the Lucas DPA stuff. I know a few marine diesels that need to get "Perked" up a might.

Scott, what did you/the school have to give for that manual? I tried to source it about 6 months ago and couldn't find one.



Is the almighty 230hp :-laf VE in this manual???

No. It's NOT in the manual. You have to purchase a suppliment to this manual. Bulletin # 666 and it's $478. 03



The cost of the publication is $33. 00. It's $55 with out the school's account. I purchased from the local truck dealership. Could be much less from Cummins Bridgeway in Columbus (ohio) That's OHIO, jay!

Get this back to the current page and comment that I have my copy. Lots of stuff on the VE. Probably worth the money if anything is worth what it cost now days.

Ouch!!!!!!! Maybe for christmas next year.



Stopped by City Diesel in Decatur Alabama and got the adapter plate for the Bacharach test stand, I will be playing with a VE soon. Really nice folks there.

Yes. The more manuals the better. What have you got? I'd like the exploded pictures you posted on the other web site. That stuff comes in handy when you have a pump gutted.
