P-pump mods?

Hey SteveD,

My next FASS project is gonna involve a Perma-Cool filter adapter, two pipe plugs and a Dahle Water Separator to go in place of the screen filter. I love the see through bowl thingy!

Yeah, I'm still watching for a fleetguard (or other) that will spin onto that mount with a clear bottom...

I put a RACOR 690T (90 gph, 2x the max stock fuel flow) right out of the tank in front of my fuel system. I did / do not seem to have any problems when it was lp on the frame or now it is RASP. I would tend to oversize if it is early in the system to prevent any possibility of restriction.

You think the Racor 30 micron filter and water separator too restrictive to put in FRONT of the FASS motor in place of the screen filter?

Considering there are guys running a 2micron Racor filter in place of the FASS water separator... I doubt it...

Will do. As soon as I find the right thread and OD. I WANT to screw it right into the FASS filter head, but I will probably end up using some sort of an adapter.

He said, filters remove crud. They don't remove acidity that occurs due to condensation, even in synthetics.

Condensation is more of a problem in gas engines since the combustion of gasoline creates more water byproduct than diesel does. Ever notice how gassers make tons of steam on a cold morning and diesels don't? Also ever notice how nasty and smelly old oil from a gas engine tends to be when you change it when compared to that from your Cummins? I've heard the arguments for frequent oil changes due to condensation and acid but I don't think that arguement flies for a Cummins.
