Not sure if anyone has viewed this yet. Not necessarily the perfect test but still an interesting watch.

I have used Howe's as a winter additive based on feedback from local diesel shops. Never had freeze up issues but also thought it added an element of lubricity.

It looks like it works well as an anti-gel in this test, but not sure how much I should read into the lubricity?

Anyways, still fun to watch.

Definitely an interesting video. But since it was focused on fuel additives as an anti-gel first, and corrosion and lubricity second they never tested the standard Power Service fuel additive (in the grey/silver container), which is probably the PS product most people use. I've used a fuel additive as an anti-gel once since I bought the truck, as living in Texas has its benefits. I also don't think I have ever put any fuel other than #2 diesel in the tank. But I am a frequent user of the silver/grey container of Power Service.

I've also wondered if using cutting oil as a fuel additive specifically for lubricity would work, as it is high in sulfur.

@Crunch it's the process of removing sulfur that strips the lube out of diesel rather than sulfur itself.

@Prairie Dog didn't you have one of the rare CP3 failures? Curious on miles and additive used with that CP3? Your Stanadyne choice covers the antiques I also run...

Not me!
I had injector failure and got a new pump while the new sticks were going in at about 110,000. I had not been using any additive. It wasn't until after the injectors that I started using the Stanadyne. (Clever huh?)
