Today eastbound, Arcata to Reno through Susanville. Stopped to get fuel, she was warm, tough daylong run,208 going into station, but let it idle to 190 then shut it off. Long idle. Go to start it and red lights on gauge cluster briefly come on for oil and coolant temp. She goes to a high idle, cooling fan on fully engaged and would not get past 45 to 50 pedal to the metal.Pull over and restart. Lights come on but all ok. All temps normal...

Brought back memories of the ED. No CEL though.Rest of the day uneventful, still lights up red coolant and oil briefly on start. Runs great, thinking a computer issue??

Very unusual, towing real heavy? sounds like something in one of CAN bus computers, do you have something that reads codes with you? I forget how many starts need to clear like 5 or 6.

8500lb tops. Steep grades but nothing unususlbin temps etc. No code reader.

Update. All red flags gone on start up. No CEL. Today pushed her hard on 70 eastbound up the Rockies. She would hit 217, then the fan comes on and instantly 215. I couldnt overheat the damn thing, tried.
The ATC took a beating. 70 over the mtns is brutal.
