2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Interior Door Trim and seat Swap ?'s

I am buying a used 97 2500 ext cab. It appears to have some sort of power window conversion, it has plain plastic door panels with a cap from where the window crank was and non oem looking window switches. I dont know if this was some dealer conversion or aftermarked stereo shop type conversion. I would like to swap the door panels to factory power ones with the correct switches and lower door pockets. I have seen a few on ebay but they are usually newer models 98-2001. I am also interested in finding some newer, nicer seats, but they typically are from later models also. I know there was major interior change in 98, where there any others before the 3rd gen came out? My quesion is: will the newer door panels and seats work on my 97? What about 1/2 ton models?
