Howdy all. Been a while since I've been on here. I still have an 06. Now has 74k on it. First is the defroster blend door that doesn't function. Found a fantastic write up on that. Ordering the parts for that shortly. A few electrical problems that I searched for answers for here. I have some crazy wipers going on and the searches seem to indicate a multi-function switch. The other item are my interior lights once you open the doors they turn off after about 10 seconds. Even if I turn the interior lights on with the switch to let them on they turn off in about 10 seconds. Any thoughts on that would be great. Thanks again.

The interior lights shutting off after approx. 10-15 seconds is a software issue. There is a TSB out for it. It seems that its isolated to just the 06 models. The TSB # is 08-026-06. I had it performed approx. 1. 5 years ago on my truck. Apparently at that time, the dealerships didn't know there was a problem. I took my truck back 3 times before they finally got with DMC and determined that it was a software issue. Up to that point, they had just been resetting all the customer parameters and saying that whoever did it "before" didn't know what they were doing!!!!. . Funny part was, that was the only dealership to ever touch the truck.

Does anyone know if unhooking the battery for a half hour or so will do the same thing???? I had the TSB / CCM flash done a few years ago and the last month or so it has started killing the dome lights and taking a few minutes for the temp display to read correctly again. I would rather not flash it again if there was another way to do it.

Thanks, Mike ;)

15 minutes will do the trick. I had the same problem about a year ago, inacurate temp display on overhead, interior lights off in appx. 10 seconds.

Disconnect both batteries, share some conversation with the Bride,:-{} reconnect the batteries and you are done.

My 06 needs the batt cables removed about every 6 months to fix the OH temp display and the dome light going off to soon.

Quick and easy fix that beats letting the ;)moron dealer touch it.

Unhooked power for 15 minutes and that did the trick. OH Display and Dome lights working as they should. The funny noise that it was making when unlocking the doors went away as well. I did cheat and unhooked the power at the PDM rather than unhooking the battery cables, seemed simpler. I did notice a little green scum at the PDM connection so cleaned it up and applied Dielectric grease while I was right there. You guys in the salt/rust belt may want to keep an eye on that. The salt spray blows in thru the grille and around the washer jug from the looks of it.

As always, thanks for all of your replys.

Mike. :):)

I'm having the dome light issue right now. I plan to the the power disconnect but I would like to take a look at the PDM and connections there but I don't know what or where it is located? Thanks for any directions.

This is the only wire that you need to remove. Much quicker and easier than disconnecting both batteries.

Right behind the washer jug.

Unhook for 20 minutes or so, then reconnect. Dome light should work fine after that. Oo.

I disconnected the PDM for about 30 minutes, then re-connected . That solved my interior light problem for now. I was not having any overhead console issues that I know of. I have never had this issue before. My '06 QC dually has 39k miles.
