2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission interior light

I have a 1998 12 valve 5 speed. I was taking apart my dash and the storage compartment in front of the stick shift has a light on the top of it, so I replaced it and it works.



The problem is that the light is too bright at night when driving. Is there a way to turn it of and turn it on when you want or make it dimmer while driving at night.

If it is like mine it will dim along with all of the other dash lights, if you want to be able to dim it seperate or have it set at a certain dimness below you can always go to an electronics parts supply, like Radio Shack and get a resistor or potentiometer ( I think I am using the right names for what I am thinking of, if not someone here will correct me. ) Pretty simple fix. I did it to mine so that I can control it seperate, I mounted a CB and scanner and set it up so the light will show the controls on the scanner and then I can dim it back down when I don't need it.
