Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Interior Noise

I have a 98. 5 and it runs great . The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it sounds louder inside the vehicle than others I have driven. Are some insulated better than others ? Don't get me wrong ,I love the rattle of my diesel but it seems a littl excessive.

Hi CD, yes some of our trucks are a lot noisier than others. My 2001 was awful, I used to wear earplugs when I drove it for any length of time.



I have experimented with and applied a lot of noise reduction products on my truck, and it now is fairly quiet.



Use the search function on this site, and look for noise reduction you will find a lot to read.

I checked out every bit of info I could find on noise reduction and was amazed at what I found. I think I got the best info from the members that have already dealt with this problem. Thanks to all of them. I think I will be starting a noise reduction project in the new year,wish me luck.
