Took the dealer 2 weeks to get the paint for the A pillar. I gave them the VIN number for the truck to order the correct paint. When I picked it up the cap was brown, I told them that it wasn't the correct color. The guy behind the counter said don't pay any attention to the cap color, it will match perfect, afterall we did use the VIN number. Sprayed the pillar last night. NOT EVEN CLOSE! I have camel tan interior, the paint is brown, "matches the cap perfectly".

Is there anyone with the same interior color with a pillar mount?

What kind of paint did you use?

Am on vacation this week and really want to get these gauges installed!

interior paint

Just about any auto parts store carries interior trim paints and just about every imaginable color and more paint for less than half the price you pay at the dealer: in stock on the shelf.

I ordered my agate color from DC and it came to a perfect match. Not much help for you but I would go back and show him the difference and try again. By the way when I placed the oder for my paint, it arrived the next day. This has been the case with every item I have ordered from DC.

Try again with DC. They have what you want. Just pull it out of them. They make this paint for there use to and would not be able to pass that big of a difference off on a customer if they did the touch-up.

In the back of the dealer's Mopar accessories catalog, there is a table with the part #s for the interior paint colors. Check the sticker under the hood that lists the "As Built" features of your truck for the correct paint code.

I had the same problem with my dealer... .

Interior paint for 2001 ram

Camel—code RK5 in a 5 oz. spray can is P/N 04864437

:)

I'll pass on the favor. It was posted before. 4864437 is Mopar Interior Paint - Carmel, 5003524AA is Mopar Interior Paint - Dark Tan.

I went to a local auto paint supply place and they mixed me up a batch of SEM brand plastic flex paint. Matched real well to my Camel interior. (I took the chip samples out to the truck in the sun to match, a Chevy color was the closest. )

If you look closely, those A pillars are a different color than any of the rest of the plastic trim in the cab. I didn't realize it until I really got to looking.

I prep'd the plastic with another SEM product that came in a spray can. It basically removes the molds' releasing agents, as well as finger prints etc.

Rather than getting out my big Sharpe gun, I just shot it with one of those Prival disposables. I've done two of the pillars now and they turned out looking great. Real durable too.

Hope this helps.
