I'm getting an interminent thump that I can physcially feel under the drivers side front floor board. Feels like someone punching it from the underside.

Occures 1-2 times aday and only when braking. Front brakes are good and calipers are torgued to spec (first thing i thought of).

Thinking maybe the control arm bushings, but when I grab em and try to move em they seem tight.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks

First check the track bar. If its ball-n-socket joint is wore out, you'll get a soft-ish 'thunk' at times.

'Grab the control arm'? Hah! Maybe with a 10 foot pole you could affect them. Put the truck in reverse, get moving, hit the brakes hard. The put it in forward, move forward, hit the brakes hard. If that produces a sharp-ish 'snap' instead of a dull-ish 'thunk', tighten your control arm bushing bolts.

I have athird gen trail bar conversion on my truck so no ball joint. I'll go like u suggested ref the control arms.

Do you have a nerf bar style side step? I had one just slightly loosen up a bit and it did what you are describing. Tightened it up and all was well.

My nerf bars attached to the body/frame mounts. So, even if you don't have the nerf bars you might want to check the body mounts for tightness.

I'm just throwing this out there. I had the same probelm. I could hear and feel exactly what you are describing. After three trips to the dealer, I started hearing it under the passanger side. Long story short, it turned out to be a military surplus ammunition can compressing and decompressing with temperature. AAAAHHH!!! I was so mad at myself. It is probably not your case, but something to consider.
