Truck has intermintent power loss and keeps throwing a p0251 code. If you get on the throttle it acts like you are pulling an anchor. It is much more pronounced when during cool weather. Injectors were rebuilt 20K miles ago. Sometimes it runs great other times if you step on it it lays down and runs like a total dog. When it does this the boost will climb to 28 lbs but EGT's don't climb so I think it is a fueling issue and not boost related. I have a FASS so I believe the lift pump is OK. I have a used FCA that I am going to try and see what happens. There have been several posts with this code, but no definitive answers to a fix. I had it to my diesel mechanic, but of course it ran fine while he had it and it wouldn't set the code.

Have you tried following the trouble shooting procedures in the Dodge Powertrain Diagnostic Procedures manual?

I've attached a copy of the pages for the P0251 DTC.

Sounds like it's a high probability as a wiring harness problem or failing ECM.

Good luck,

John L.

I'm going to try a different FCA. This intermittent game is a pain though. No check engine light either, so I don't even know when it set the code. I will change the FCA this weekend and disconnect the batteries. If that doesn't do it I will begin the process JLandry sent me.

Thanks!

Well today it died taking off from a stop light. Turned key off and restarted fine, but acted like it had about 80hp. Like it was pulling about 3 plows. Got where I was going and shut it down for 20 minutes, restarted and it seemed better. Drove for about a half hour and it seems back to normal. This problem seems to happen with outside temps cooler. When it did this this morning it was about 38 degrees, about 60 degrees when it shaped up. I changed the FCA last week, but that apparently isn't it.
